Most of these are gas card promos for guaranteed prizes, but the overall promotional message in the advertising is similar. As more marketers implement Gas Promos, the Gas For Life angle becomes an effective competitive differentiator. The best prospects may be those already succeeding with gas promos who want to refresh their campaign with an even bigger consumer proposition.

Conoco Phillips: Here’s a story on how two radio stations are extending the Conoco Phillips Gas For Life promotion locally. Two ClearChannel Bay Area radio stations, KIOI-FM (101.3) and KUFX-FM (98.5), are giving away thousands of dollars worth of fuel to support the 76 “Win Gas for Life” promotion.

During four special “Free Gas Fridays” slated for June and July, both 98.5 FM and 101.3 FM will announce designated 76 stations, where the first 98 to 101 drivers visiting could get 10 gallons of free gasoline. Free Gas Fridays will be announced the morning of June 13 and July 11 for Star 101.3, and again on June 20 and 27 for KUFX 98.5. Radio station personalities will host the Free Gas Fridays at the designated 76 stations.
